Question Red Hat 8.0 or 9.0?

Is it worth the time and Effort to upgrade from Red Hat 8.0 to Red Hat 9.0? I am running the free version of 8.0 currently.

i would say no, i actually believe that 8 is more stable than 9, anyways i am sure you'll hear both sides of the story, but i'd stay with 8 if i were you.

I would say yes. Its got updated packages. things are better.

Though if you get APT4RPM, you can just upgrade from that.

Also, if you are going to end up reinstalling, you may want to look at other distros. Many people "grow out of" redhat. Not that its bad, but theres loads of choices, and most people just pick Redhat because its the most popular. But if you like it, more power to ya.

I would say yes. The stability is not that bad. On my machine, it's more stable than version 8 and better hardware support, for example it can detect my USB infrared 5 button mouse while redhat 8 couldn't.

I have recently upgraded my system. I have a
AMD Athlon XP 2200+ CPU, 512MB of PC2700 RAM. I am assuming it would work fine on my computer. Maybe I'll partition my hard drive into two parts and put 9.0 on my system also.
