Ok Before I reboot i want to unmount the image of my install disk on linux
but it wont let me.... it says i need to be logged in as root... but i tried loging in as root but w/e is there a cmd in the terminal that i can type under the root to unmount the cd and eject it?

DavidPhillips 11-24-2002 07:31 PM

the command is

eject

be sure you are not sitting on the mount point ( current dir ) or it will not unmount

You'll probably have better luck starting another thread for that topic, that'll get more views and things. This time, make sure you only post it once ;)

Cool

Actually RedHat has a pretty good gui for printer setup

It's burried in the menu somewhere.

printer configuration or something in 8.0

There are hundreds of printers in there, and it's fairly simple to add a printer in the gui.

When you setup the driver you may want to try gimp-print, I use it and it seems like the best one for my hp890c

yea, that should be another thread.

good luck

I havent read the above posts, but if your using grub, you can just add
Code:

title Windows 98
        rootnoverify (hd0,0)
        chainloader +1

to grub.conf . To log in as root, you can just enter "root" as the user name where ever there is a graphical login and supply the password. I also used partition magic, and mine went fine. I used rh 9 instead of 8 and I just made a fat32 patition for win98 and left if alone, then finished in the redhat installer.
