red hat 7.3 + fat32


hi peoples

just wondering what line i put in the fstab file to read + write to a fat32 partition? i have done it before but i can't remember. currently the line i have can only read from the fat32 partition, but now write:
/dev/hdc1 /mnt/docs vfat defualts 0 0

thanks in advance!

Try:

/dev/hdc1 /mnt/docs vfat defaults,umask=000 0 0

Or, I think I read somewhere, that you can simply add rw instead of defaults, you can try that, but don't take my word for it.

also check what fat fs is included in kernel, because mount usually gives all possible options for filesystem, unless restricted by command
