Red Hat 6.1 Question
Isnt Gnome Workstation supposed to have a visual interface somthing like windows? I am very new to linux and when i installed it and went through , it took me straight to a Shell on startup . I cant figure out how im supposed to do anything like get online or get into the Gnome Workstation , and all the help files i find are for users that already KNOW how to get into this part of linux. SO if any one could help me , it would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

yes, gnome's interface is erm... similar to windows. BUT you're distro is VERY old as far as linux goes. that must be three years old, and things will have moved on a LOT since then, and i'd suggest your highest priority would be to get a newer distribution (e.g. redhat 7.2 (7.3 out soon) or mandrake 8.2).
erm currently tho, i guess you've not got X working basically. run Xconfigurator or xf86config to configure the system, and then run it using "startx" |
