Question Recompiling kernel


Tried compiling kernel.. all going well until after
mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.4.18.img 2.4.18-3custom

got announced that:

All of your loopback devices are in use !


What to do ?

Do you need to use an initrd? Try booting into a boot floppy and running it or use a kernel without ram disk enabled. Try your kernel without the initrd.
