Reading Root Mail

Today, I was trying to read my root mail. It was working fine yesterday. Here is the error message I got. Does any body know how to fix it?

[root@mrtg2 /var]# mail
/tmp/RxaaM7mY: Read-only file system
[root@mrtg2 /var]#

In a terminal type
ls -l /tmp/RxaaM7mY (this is small "L"s -(small "L")

Then post the output here.

And that's no wonder, since you queried the wrong file:

ls -l /tmp/RxTgFERE can't show the permissions of
/tmp/RxtMeytK.

Please use the appropriate file name.

OK. YOu mean ls -l /tmp/RxtMeytK. Here is the output

[root@mrtg2 /tmp]# ls -al /tmp/RxTgFERE
ls: /tmp/RxTgFERE: No such file or directory
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root
[root@mrtg2 /tmp]# ls -al /tmp/RxtMeytK
ls: /tmp/RxtMeytK: No such file or directory
[root@mrtg2 /tmp]# cd /tmp
[root@mrtg2 /tmp]# ls
[root@mrtg2 /tmp]# ls -al

You cut off 21 lines ... so I can't see what I was looking for.
Okay. Try
less /var/spool/mail/root
