Re: mounting cd problem

Hi all,

I have just install FC3 and my /etc/fstab setting is as follows :
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom auto pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,managed 0 0

I have also gave permission to all users to mount cd. However, when I issue this command
user@localhost $ mount /media/cdrom , I get this message "mount /media/cdrom /dev/hdc: Input/output error
mount: block device /dev/hdc is write-protected, mounting read-only
/dev/hdc: Input/output error
mount: /dev/hdc: can't read superblock .
I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem. I would really appreciate if I anyone could help me solve this proble. Thanks.

Most likely the CD is automounted when inserted... Try not mounting it just do:

ls /media/cdrom
