raid1: md resyncing at every boot?
Hi there,
I just created a software raid1 array with mdadm on my Ubuntu 6.10 box.
It works fine so far, but during boot, my system spends about 8 minutes without progress after displaying "md: raid1 personality registered for level 1" (see the dmesg log below). This is about the time the raid array needed to sync after creating, so maybe it is resyncing every time on boot - not in the background as posted by other people but obviously in the foreground.
Is there any way to prevent this resyncing or whatever causes this 8 minutes delay?
Before shutdown, I checked the md0 array by means of /proc/mdstat, showing no sign of syncing. Hence, there should be no necessity to resync.
Here is the relevant dmesg output:
[17179578.988000] md: md driver 0.90.3 MAX_MD_DEVS=256, MD_SB_DISKS=27
[17179578.988000] md: bitmap version 4.39

Many thanks,
