RAID 1 test with VMWARE

First , my english is very poor, please forgive me about my wrong words.

Hi, I trying to understand RAID1 funcionality in Linux.

So, I installed SUSE 9.1 Pro in a VMWare 4.5.3 with 3 SCSI harddisks (sda, sdb and sdc).

I created a md0 RAID 1 partition (reiserfs /) using sda1 and sdb1 partition (Linux Raid Partition) and created sd1 (reiserfs /boot) and sd2 (swap) partition two.

LILO is the boot manager.

SUSE works fine with this configuration, VMWare show me the RAID1 works throught "icon led" indicators.

The TEST :

I shutdown SUSE and removed the sda disk from VMWARE. SUSE didnīt boot. The same thing happen when a remove sdb instead sda.

THE HELP :

Someone could help me saying why my SUSE donīt boot without sda or sdb disk ?
