Question considering a not defined USB-Flash memory device ...


hi everybody , actually yesterday i found my flash memory not working , i've used it on my ubuntu OS at my home ,,, and even on a vista laptop it didnt defined it ... it said u need to attach it to a high speed USB port ,, it was running accurately ... dunno what happened ! is it virus or something or what ??

a little more details pls. a Link to your device would be handy.

In general the issues are:
-usb has a switch/slide that locks device

-usb has special hidden partition looking at system files and attempts to restore/correct or block writes

-file corruption has occurred...some data may be recoverable but not guaranteed...consider a re-format

-pulled out stick instead of using software from MS or linux to unmount/umount and its fat32...so definate file corruption has occurred

-usb sticks are similar to a hard drive...so mbr and files can be infected.....run clamav or other checker on it
