Post Question about SQUID log files

Hi all,

I use RedHat 7.2 and Squid 2.4.
Every time size of Squid log files, "access.log" and "store.log", reach 2G, squid will stop working. So I have to rotate them.
What I wanna know is WHY SQUID has this limitation. Does it mean ext2 or ext3 partition can support only 2G file?

Most RedHat systems by default run "logrotate" every so often (daily?) which manages log files for you. I assume you're either not doing that or are logging so many squid entries in access_log that it reaches this size in a day before logrotate can move it out of the way and start a new log file?

I did a quick search and it appears an app using 32-bit addressing will be limited to a max 2GB file whereas 64-bit addressing would allow much larger files but stop at the EXT2/EXT3 limit of 4GB... Anyone else with more knowledge on the subject please speak up!
