Question Question about multi-systems

I am a newbie of linux. I want to have both linux mandrake and Windows XP in my laptop.
I want to know if I can install xp under mandrake, if so, do I have to install xp in another partition?
Or if I can only install install xp first and have mandrake in another partition.? I read in another thread that mandrake can make partition of its own so a partition software is not necessary, but I am not so clear about that.

Thanks for help.

Its usually best or easiest to install Windows first, creating its partition and then install Mandrake second, on the partition or drive you allocated for it after the XP install.

AFAIK you can't install XP while running Mandrake at the same time.. not without an emulator of some kind however..
