Question about bootloaders

Hey there, Just having a bit of a think about my plan for installing slackware 10 dual booting with windows. (I had Suse 9 before, I ended up using windows instead of it after a while). Now, as with most people, I'd obviously install lilo to the MBR. My question is, if something goes wonky, and I am forced to do a fixmbr or fdisk /mbr from an XP recovery cd, assuming I have made a boot disk during the slackware install and I can boot into it, how do I then re-install lilo into the mbr as the bootloader? Thanks.

hehe

Just don't let windows fix the MBR. Lilo SHOULD be able to see windows etc. Make sure you have a good lilo.conf file and everything should work out fine.

if u use lilo as the boot loader, and if the config file is setup properly , just use that linux rescue disk, chroot onto the linux root partition, and run "lilo" , that should put lilo back to where it belongs
