Qns on Bad partition when e2fsck used

Hi All,

I need your kind expertise.. hope someone can help.

We r using suse linux on some of the avionics equipment onboard the aircraft. We recently found that there seem to be some flash partition corruption on the flash drives of the pcs when we did a e2fsck command to check the partition. I am not quite sure if this is a genuine partition fault and if theres a explanation of this error report since everything functions good with no problem.
this partition is a read only partition and it still shows the pass 5 errors. What is actually causing this - power failure? is there anyway to prevent this from happening? this fault seems to be only happening on flash drives that we have on the pcs.

Why are you trying to force (-f) this on a *mounted* partition in the first place?

Hippolilo 08-30-2002 07:23 AM

hmm... without the -f force switch turned on, this mounted partition still gives the group summary errors. All other partitions are checked okay. Any idea why we are seeing this kind of pass 5 checking errors?

Thanks
