Question Ptrace - Help me undersatnd Ptrace

Ello folks, : )
i need to understand ptrace for my project, am finding it hard to understand. Can anyone please explain me about ptrace n show some examples.

I find the googled material tough, i would like a very simple explanation on what is ptrace, where is it used and a simple example in code.
