I would like to do a project as a part of my graduation.( i am final year computer science and engineering student.). Can any body suggest some ideas for a project work.

Create a distro that will detect all hardware, do an entire install, and setup all user accounts that on their first access will ask for a password (which will need to be confirmed with a root password), setup networking, and get internet updates, all by simply creating a root password, and pressing Enter. And a LOUD music exerpt when a new disc is needed would be a bonus.

OR

Use linux in everything you do in your house, from running the microwave, to turning on the lights. Use it to monitor the temp in the house, play movies on EVERY TV, and roast your coffee. To monitor fuel levels in your car(s) and remind you when to fuel up. Setup a central server to collect all this data, but have small workstations to do the small work.
