Question program to view internet usage ?

i need to monitor my home pc internet usage running linux....
i earlier had windows running at that pc and i used to use "DU meter" for the same !
I just need to see what is the amount of MBs downloaded or uploaded during a certain period of time...

Well you need both the 'tar.gz' and 'tar.bz2' files, then extract the 'tar.gz' file and in there should be a "README" or "INSTALL" file which has instructions to install Conky from source. Generally it's just './configure' 'make' and 'make install'.

I use vnstat and conky, and additionally "vnstat php frontend" for extra stats. Check my post in the Conkyness thread.
