Program to Convert ogg to mp3

I have been searching unsuccessfully for a program to convert ogg files to mp3. When I had gnome as my desktop environment grip was great, but I tried to install it on kde and had some problems. Is there another?

btw I am doing it so that my windows OS can play all the cd's I have ripped to my computer

Try sox on the command line, or audacity for gui.

there's tons of stuff I can point you to so you can play ogg vorbis on windows.

re-encoding is generally a bad idea with lossy formats, especially from a good format to an inferior one..

winamp supports it natively...
a directshow filter here
there's an itunes addon for it here
an addon for nero here
a windows shell extension for editing and viewing tags and info n' such here

unless you have a better reason to need mp3 these should serve you nicely.

it IS open source and cross-platform..

Thank you. I didn't realize that winamp was still free, I have been using linux for the past few years. Thanks.
