processor problem!

My parents bought me a cpu and a processor, both amd. the problem is that the processor, a AMD athlon thunderbird 700, is an OEM slot a, while the motherboard is a socket A. does any one know if there is a adapter or something? and we cant return it because they bought it online.

Googling helps, i dunno if there is adapters for cpus. On the secon thought that would make a good hardware connector. i say email the online store.and ask for an exchange. Or try to take a hammer and attempt to *fit* that cpu in ^^

They do make adapters from certain forms to others, I'm not sure if there is one for your particular situation.

This is a question for google :)
