Angry problems with installing linux redhat


hi recently i tried to install redhat on my system,it allready had windows xp over it.but the installation using anaconda gui always got struck at the filnal installation stage and my cd rom stopped playing the cd ,help me please

This isn't really an introduction. But...

Firstly did you check the md5sum? Maybe the download was slightly corrupt. Did you run the disk check at the start of the install? I would definitely recommend it.

At what point did the install stop? What was it doing?

Did you try a text only install? That may help - when prompted for the boot type just before installing type "linux text" (w/o the quotes) and continue.

Hello,
I've just moved the thread to Linux - General. It looks it fits better here. Member Intro is a good place to say 'hello', but questions should be posted to other forums.

I agree with XavierP. Check if the cd is broken. The Windows program I recommend to check the images (if you downlaaded them yourself) is md5summer (www.md5summer.org). After calculating the sum of your image, compare it with the one you can get from the site you downladed it from (in the same directory, usually MD5SUM file). If they're different, you need to download again.
