Problems with core dump kernel 2.4

Hi Gururs,
I have problems with creating a core dump, the core comes out
with only 0 in size.
My kernel is 2.4.20.
I've set ulimit -c unlimited
I've compiled my kernel with
CONFIG_MULTI_THREAD_CORES since the application that crashes
has 10 threads.
I'm able to crash other applications to get core dumps.
Does any one have a clue on why?
Have 2.4 a problem with multi threaded core dumping?
If so is there a patch for this?
Hope for answers
