Problems setting the focus window

Not sure this is the correct forum for this issue but here goes :

Running SuSE 9.3 with no Desktop Manager, just a TWM windows manager. My problem is , I click on the menu to start an app, ( say for example xterm) the window opens up fine but the only way I can do anything in the window is to keep the mouse pointer in the window to keep it as the focus window.

I have been trying to change this so just by clicking on the window with the mouse or starting it up would make it the focus window.

I have been trying to modify the .twmrc file in /home by adding f.focus in different locations but so far haven't gotten the right one. Also tried using NoTitleFocus entry which didn't help either.

Is there a way to address this issue ?

Thanks,

Steve

Install a better window manager such as Fluxbox!

I dont use twm or have used it much but you just select Focus from the menu then click on the window you want, from then on that is the window that recieves input no matter where the pointer is. To unfocus, you select unfocus and click again and that will make focus follow the pointer again.
