Problems re-installing procps rpm for RH 7.2

For some reason /bin/ps disappeared, so I decided to reinstall the procps package as root. Unfortunely when I did that I got:

error: unpacking of archive failed on file /bin/ps;3d6f0618;cpio open failed - Permission Denied

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? And how can I correct it? and install procps?

Could be the archive is corrupt. Try d/l'ing it again.

I used the package from my org distr (that's on CD, I org installed RH from it, and was working previously) and I downloaded one from the net, but I get the same results - open failed perm denied.

When I check the signature on my org distro, size and MD5 are ok, but then I get an unknown signature??

Hi,
It says permission denied. Did you login as root? Can you use the --force option on rpm?

regards
Krishna
