I'm trying to load a tailor-made module and get the following errors:
insmod fake.o
fake.o: unresolved symbol input_register_device
fake.o: unresolved symbol devfs_mk_dir
fake.o: unresolved symbol input_unregister_device
fake.o: unresolved symbol devfs_unregister
fake.o: unresolved symbol input_event
fake.o: unresolved symbol devfs_register_chrdev
Does anyboby know what this means and what I need to do to get the module to load.
Cheers,
Sat
taylor-maid??? Well, unless I'm sure if you provide more details of what kind of module this is, if you compiled it yourself or the likes, not going to know for sure really? It definitely can't resolve symbols though..
It looks like you didn't link to a library that you need when you compiled it. Like trickykid said, it's very hard to give a decent answer with the very limited amount of information you've offered.
Thanks for the replies. I did copy a header file over to the source directory to get the program to compile, which probably wasn't sufficient despite the fact I got no errors. Maybe I am missing some libray files as itsme86 suggested. I'll have to look into this. The program I am trying to compile is the bthid package for a 2.4 kernel http://klausler.com/msbtkb-linux.html
