Problems in font size after upgrade to Xorg on Debian

Hello all,

after I upgraded my X system on Debian to Xorg, some fonts in the X enviroment are very large than it was in XFree86. For example, the font size of menu of NEdit application. But my main problem is when I connect to SUN station and export the terminal to my linux: the size of fonts are very very larger than the size of its when I used XFree86.

I installed all fonts packages available in debian-unstable, but this was not enough to solve the problem.

Someone have ideas how to solve this problem ?

Thanks in advance,

Diogo

Are you still using Sarge with Xorg? Is the screen density wrong and is that causing the fonts to appear larger, or is the problem only in (certain) applications? Which version of xorg did you install, and from what source?

Problems in font size after upgrade to Xorg on Debian

Rickh,

I'm using the unstable version of sarge.

My problem is only with certain applications. The main problem is when I telnet to a Solaris and export the terminal to my linux to run some X applications from Solaris. The font size of this applications are very large. When I used woody (Xfree86) I didn't have this problem. If I start NEdit local application in my linux, the font size of menu is very large too.

Xorg version: 7.1.0-5
Driver: xserver-xorg-video-i810 1.7.2-1
Source of install: ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main

Thanks for your attention,
Diogo
