Problem with the x-server rebooting

The system loads up. Auto-login is enabled, so it automatically tries to load gnome. However as gnome starts, there is this problem that requires the dbus service to be enabled. It then automatically reboots the x-server and once again attempts an auto-login into gnome. The dbus error comes up again. Cue process repeating itself.

Now what I want to do is either load up the FC5 DVD and go into rescue mode, or load up another distro and mount the FC5 system there. From there I want to either edit the file that has auto-login enabled, or find the file that tells it to load gnome and instead tell it to load kde. kde was working before I changed the GUI to gnome.

when the system gets to the point where it's trying to automatically login hit CTRL+ALT+F2 to go to a tty session where you can login at a console prompt.

init 3 shoud get the system to quit attempting to Start X

Then edit the files you need to change for auto login or your desktop selection

init 5 should restart the X server

CTRL+ALT+F7 to switch back to the X session after you have made your changes
