Let me see if I can put this down intelligently.
I have created my boot disk using the bootnet.img. My NIC in my Compaq DL360 wasn't getting recognized on boot so I added the BCM5700.o to the initrd.img file under modules. I am also placing my KS.cfg file on the boot disk as well. Oh, and this is for a FTP install.
So here is where it gets weird. If I change my syslinux.cfg file so it states "default ks" it loads up and I get a nifty little selection screen where I can select my NIC and everything is happy and it gets it's DHCP reservation, only problem is it fails to find the ks.cfg file on my floppy. So all right, when the boot disk is loading I'll type in "linux ks=floppy" to point it to my ks.cfg file. Now what's this? No NIC selection screen so I get a "no appropriate device was found for this installation" i.e. can't find my NIC, and it promptly dies.
I've added the appropriate *.o file, and i've added the pcitable entry so it should be finding my NIC.
What am I missing? Am I insane? I will be if I don't figure this out soon. Please save me.
