Problem with kate


I try to install kate

and i got

Start with "apt-get update", often this kind of problems are caused by un-updated package list.

Also please tell us which distribution (or "distro") you are using, such as:

Ubuntu 13.10
Mint 13
Debian Wheezy
etc.

That way we can give you accurate and releavant advice.

now we do know from you wanting to install "kate" that you are using the KDE4 desktop
"kwrite" is the normal default installed text editor


as par above
run "update " to update the list of packages

and provide what OS you are using
from you using "apt-get" it is one of the Debian based OS's
BUT WHAT ONE and what version
