Problem with date & time

I'm using phpBB on my server. As you all know, phpBB has a main config where you can set the System Timezone. The server is located in Illinois, Chicago which is GMT -6. That's what the main config holds , GMT -6. The server's time is somethign like this: Wed Aug 17 10:41:39 CDT 2005. The time zone was set to 'America/Chicago' using timeconfig command in slackware. My phpBB profile has GMT-6 for the time, too. Looks like everything should be working alright, but when you go to phpBB index page, it says ' The time now is 17 Aug 2005 09:41 am' which is one hour less than it should be. phpBB used to be working alright before the system was reinstall, so I don't think the problem is on the phpBB's side.

set it to local time but not to Universal

You are not accounting for Daylight Savings Time. There should be a flag that will set it to +1DST - like you will probably see at the bottom of this page......

So what should I do to take the DST in the account? I am not sure where I should specify that.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:36 PM.
