Like I said before, I think you can use the update program 'yum' to get a newer kernel which might fix the problem. Search the forum here for more information about upgrading the kernel - I have not done this with Fedora,

My Fedora 7 is working fine after upgrading my Kernel. As you said it was
a bug with the Kernel.
yum -y upgrade kerner*, did the magic for me.
Many many thanks to you and during this follow-up i learnt quite a lot of
new things like "grub loader" ACPI Settings"....etc
You actually kept my confidence going.I really appreciate your timely help.
