problem through installation Gentoo

Hi all .
I installed the Gentoo (universal version) on server ,and i finished the Grub step , and when i make reboot , display :
"
checking root filesystem ...
fsck.ext3 : No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/root/dev/root :
the superblock could not be read or does not ......
and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock :
e2fsck -b 8193 ....
* Filesystem couldn't be fixed

"
how i can solve this problem , knowing :
release : 2005.1-r1
version : 2.6.12

sounds like your grub entry is wrong, as there's no reason it should look for "/dev/root/dev/root" it should just be "/dev/root". where in the boot process does this occur?
