problem regarding startup of services !
i'm running fedora 15 gnome 3....
everything was working fine when suddenly some things i noticed going wrong with my startup services. whenever i hibernate or shutdown my system and restart then i find some services not working. First,i found my wireless network no longer popped on when turning switch on my laptop ON,so i started it with Fn+F5(my laptop custom shortcut) Next time i discovered that bluetooth is not working,so i started it by Fn+F8(again my laptop custom shortcut) things didn't stopped here only.... Then i discovered that my touchpad was not working,so i restarted it with Fn+F6. what is all this going on ? Please help....!! These things are obviously not in sequence.... i feel that these services need to be started everytime i login ! |
Anyone ?
Why these forums get so inactive some time ?....... Is it the time to move to mars....?:scratch: |
Hi,
Bumping your own thread within 24 hours is frowned upon. Some even suggest that bumping without any extra, relevant info is a big no-no. One reason I didn't even start reading the first sentence of the original post: Bold and red is annoying to read..... |
I second that, for your post is near to unreadable. Also, sometimes it helps to read the Rules

@dEnDrOn: BTW: Bumping does have another negative side effect: Zero reply threads are cycled a few times (as in: Put back to the top of the stack), once you bump it its off the zero reply list.

I just posted that out of strong frustration of that issue and no one there to help me as they do always ! |
which services actually control these ?
I could check if auto startup is enabled for them ! |
do power options also effect these ?
someone suggested me to check power options ! But i never configured them, moreover this issue came up suddenly....everything was working fine as i said !! |
update:
I don't know how but my touchpad issue is resolved ! When i did a yum update this morning, and then i restarted my laptop....i didn't need to turn it ON again using shortcut ! But other 2 issues are still not solved. |
here is chkconfig output:
please browse through- Code:
abrt-ccpp 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:off 5:on 6:off |
Please use code tags the next time.
Ok, from what I can see neither the network nor wpa_supplicant are started automatically at boot, I would try to enable these services first. I also can't see a bluetooth daemon, but I don't know how this is handled in Fedora. |
