Problem mounting ext3 partition
My /etc/fstab...
LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hda1 /home/neilr/hd1 ext3 defaults 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0
hda1 was previously a FAT32 partition, i reclaimed this using cfdisk and mkfs to change it to ext3. I could then successfully mount the partition and subsequently copied about 1G of music onto it. I could successfully mount this partition and listen to tunes, read and write to it etc...
However i rebooted this morning and now the /home/neilr/hd1 contains no files (not even . or ..). If i remove the hda1 entry from fstab, reboot and then do
mount -vt ext3 /dev/hda1 hd1
it says...
/dev/hda1 on /home/neilr/hd1 type ext3 (rw)
indicating success however i know enough about unix to know that the no files in a directory (not even . or ..) suggests something has gone terribly wrong. However i'm not smart enough to solve this problem so if anyone could give me any hints i'd be eternally grateful.
Peace one and all
