I'm trying to install RHEL4 on a new compaq v3663tu laptop, using ICH8 architecture. The installer does not recognise my sata hard drive on bootup, even if i manually select the ahci and ata_piix drivers to be loaded. I know the solution should be to load the correct drivers via the 'linux dd' or 'linux expert' option, but I've looked online and can't seem to find the drivers. Though I did find lots of other people asking the same thing. I'd appreciate it if somebody could point me to said drivers, or tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Nobody knows where to find the drivers for ICH8 chipset?

In your bios setup, make sure the ich8 controller is set to ahci mode.

The bios has almost no customizable options available. Only allows me to mess with the clock, passwords, etc.
