I know that MYSELF am a lot novice in Linux but please say me. As it install software in the Conectiva 9? Alone goes to the “./configure” the “make” and the “make install”do not they function. As I can install?
In order to install packages from source, you'll need a compiler like gcc installed. Make sure you have gcc installed, if not, you can most likely get these off your Installation cd's as I believe they are included with Conectiva.
I had problems to install Conectiva 9 too.
I created a boot disk using my windows boot disk (I have the "recipe" for that).
After I booted from the diskett I installed Conectiva 9 without any problems.
If you want I can send you the steps to create the boot diskett.
