back up necessary files and re-install it, might seem harsh the Lq addicts might know a better way and get a bit more in depth...

Hmmmm could be an MBR problem...not sure though, you could probably do this, insert a windows 98 or m.e boot disk (www.bootdisk.com) put it in, boot your computer, then at the prompt type
Code:
fdisk /mbr
(that re-writes your boot info to boot into windows, but now you can't boot into linux right , so you have to install LILO again, not sure how this will work because i have never used SuSe before, but i'm sure it would be a matter of booting your cd into rescue mode if they have one and installing it from there...

Anyway don't take my advice, wait till someone who knows whats happening handle it

If you can boot into failsafe and get a gui, log in as root and go to Yast Control Center>System>Bootloader Configuration. It should show your boot config.Linux (default)
Failsafe
Windows
memtest86
Choose Modify>Next
Choose Master Boot Record /dev/hda
Choose save changes and it should re-write. Close Log out and reboot.

I've ran into this problem dual booting with different Windows O/S's and everything worked fine after that. But I have not had any expierience with XP except as a stand alone system! When you reboot you should get a screen with boot options. Linux will load by default unless you arrow down and choose Windows.
Don't know how your system is set up but XP should be on C: and Linux on another partition or hard drive, D:, E: whatever!

Hope this helps out.
