I have configured my Linux machine (gOS 2) to print to a shared HP printer on a Windows XP machine. CUPS sees the printer and whenever I print, something shows up in the XP queue; however, the printer does nothing but make a few noises and keeps flashing the power button as though it was receiving data forever. I have tried both foomatic and HP drivers, but no luck. Looking at the XP spool folder, print jobs from Linux are identified as flash documents. This appears to be the same problem expressed in
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=115968 in the networking forum in 2003, but without resolution there. Does anyone here have an idea what is wrong? Print jobs originating from the XP machine or another networked Windows machine are fine.
