printer stuck in draft mode

I am using an Epson Stylus Color 600 printer under Mandrake 10. I recently switched over to draft mode in Open Office to print some quick drafts of documents. Now that I try to switch back to normal print mode, everything is still coming out in draft mode. This does not appear to be a cartridge problem, because the printer prints at the same speed as it did in draft mode; whereas, it usually prints much slower in higher quailty modes. I have checked the configuration of the printer in every configuration utility I can find but everything indicates that it thinks it's printing in normal mode. Changing settings to a higher quality either within open office or in a configuration utility doesn't work. Everything still comes out in draft mode. Any ideas?
