Thumbs down Printer Connection Error : Tree Connect Failed : NT_BAD_NETWORK_NAME

Hai,

Here we connected a printer HP LS P2055dn in windows system this printer is shared and we can take printout form other windows systems. But we cant able to take print form Opensuse 11.2, ubuntu 8.04, 10.04.

The printer is installed but when we give print test page it says in printer state : Processing - Tree Connect Failed NT_BAD_NETWORK_NAME, or NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED error occured we cant able ot get prints.

One more informtion : The printer connected windows user is a windows domain user. And the linux machines are Desktop Linux OS not server OS.

Please help me immediatly.

Thanks and Regards

S. A. Yusuf Sithik.

Well, right away that sounds like it *might* be a Samba problem. Was this working at some point, and it just stopped? (Maybe a Windows server got patched and something broke?)

Yep, those look like errors from a Samba daemon. Are your Windows machines setup in an Active Directory Domain, or just a big "WorkGroup" (don't look at the smb.conf, that's not really going to tell you).

Okay, I'm still not entirely sure you're running an Active Directory Domain...but that's really nice that you're running Linux Desktops rather than Linux servers. Glad to know that.

Oh we'll try our best, "Administrator". However, as you have 41 posts to your name, and 32 of them are thread-starters, odds are in our favor that there isn't going to be a follow-up post from you.
