power-supply failure log ?

Dear All,

Could anyone advise : will OS report any power-supply failure to /var/log/messages (or somewhere else) if we unplug one of them in a dual power-supply environment?

is there any configuration we need to setup for this purpose?
( or any software we need to install first ??)

Thanks.

Not there, no. You may be able to find some notice in the virtual filesystems at /proc or /sys (fan info, maybe), but I don't see why you'd care. You don't need to install any software.

Hi,

Your query is interesting and I did search for all logs and probed procfs , I am not able to find anything about status of power supply or any logs regarding. try dmesg which is a one time log written during booting , may be you could get something out of it , you could try dmesg | grep -i acpi

Thanks.
