Postfix : update email address with ISP

Dear all,

I am trying to install and configure Postfix. I have never used it before and have to admit it is not an easy task.
One of my current problems is the following one.
When I send an email to internet, from xterm (mail), the from field looks like this : login@localhost.localdomain. Of course, from the outside world, this localhost is not known.
I would like to change/update this adrress by something like surname.name@yahoo.com. I am sure that at that location I 'll always have a mail server up-and-running.

Is there a code/decode table available somewhere in the system to perform that translation? How to configure this?

Any ideas ????

Thanks in advance,

best regards,

Vincent
