Poll: Window Manager?

I realise this was probably already posted before but with KDE3 coming out and all i would like to see what window managers / desktop environments people use.

I use Xfce because its small and easily configurable. I like KDE and GNOME but i just get lost using them because thye provide so many useless things, along with all the good things of course.

So, Vote!

I'm big into the useless things. I guess I go for the extremes, booting to the command line and then starting X into the biggest bloatiest window manager ever. Yea KDE!

Cheers,

Finegan

I like small and fast. Blackbox. I might try KDE3 when it comes out and if I can install it.

Window Maker. Fast, small and configurable.

I like a window that is small, not heavy and use low resources....I've been using the younger brother of blackbox...fluxbox

windowmaker forever! lightweight, fast, configurable... and IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE WINDOWS! i think gnome and kde are lame cause they imitate windoze. :-)

I'm affraid I come under the 'other' category. I run SawFish on its own. I have all the others installed (and a couple of others to boot) so that I can run apps that come with/require them. I'm not into the game of only installing the libraries to get KDE apps to run, I'll just install the whole bloody thing, thank you.

It's actually not that bad, it feels much like any of the other minimalist WMs, plus it doesn't get fussy when I run KDE's pager alongside Gnome's Panel, and so on.

I have tried them all. But right now I am using BlackBox and thinking of trying Fluxbox. I just love BlackBox, it has got to be the fastest WM out there. I can't stand KDE, it has got to be the slowest WM out there. However, I might try KDE3.0 in a couple of months when some of the bugs get worked out.

I really love KDE, but sometimes when I get tired of waiting on it to finish loading on my IBM TP365XD, I switch to IceWM.

Don't hate me ( ;) ), but I've tried Blackbox and Fluxbox and they both just are, well dull and boring. I pop into XFCE once in a while for a change, and it's a very nice appearing environment, but it's a little heavier than Ice.

icewm for now, but who knows... I've been using it for about a month I guess. Maybe I'll take fvwm for an extended test drive next.

I'm kind of making it a mission to at least look at all of them. Otherwise how's a guy going to know which one fits best. Funny think is I learn a few more Linux tidbits every time I try to mold one for myself ;)
