Do you use localized settings? If yes, try to change the language to English and look if it helps. If it does, download the font packages for your language and try to replace them. It migh be that they were corrupted during download. The place you cna get the RPMs from is for example http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...mandrake&arch=

Everything is in English!... not using any localization.

It is the same thing under GNOME and KDE. It is really strange because even when I TEST my resolition settings I get that screen full of colours and a message asking me whether it looks ok or not and still then the fonts are fuzy...

Welcome to LQ, hope you're enjoying linux. i'd just like to mention a couple of things though

1) please do not mark anything as urgent. it may be urgent for you, but it's not urgent for us.

2) please do not use excessive capitals and exclamation marks, shouting is never polite.

thanks.

No...

I found that it was a graphics problem that I eventually solved.

Thanx anyway though!

I have the same problem as you jasonk.
It would have been nice to know what you
did to solve your problem. :-)
I am using Debian 3.0 and yes.. all fonts are messed up.
(Main problem is that font is too big.)
