Playing audio CD's in XMMS

Hi all,

I've been using Linux for a few years now and, believe it or not, I've never played an audio CD. Well, I'm attempting to play a CD using XMMS but I'm not having much luck. XMMS will not recognize that there is a CD and when I try to mount the CD, I receive the following error:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom, or too many mounted file systems

I'm not sure if this matters or not but I'm running Slackware 9.1.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Well, I spoke to soon. I guess it still doesn't make sense to me.....

How would I play a music CD with XMMS? I followed some documentation that I found online but it still isn't working. I've tried this on my Slackware box, as well as my Mandrake and Red Hat boxes.

Thanks again.
