Placing status line of GNU Screen on top
 

I'm using GNU Screen 4.00.02 and I'm trying to get the status line and/or caption line be placed on the first line of the terminal rather than the last. I tried editing the config.h file and both defining and undefining TOPSTAT but that made no difference.

Does anyone know how to do this? Or at least point me to a resource which gives this information because I could not find anything on google or in the manual.
