Pine setup HELP :((
my email account is a different username from my linux login.
can someone tell me how to setup pine to use the correct username, ie not my linux one?

what do you mean my your correct user name? if you mean it to send emails from a different address than defaulted from the linux system, then add a customized From: header in the setup section, about half way down

I log onto my computer with username eric.
My email address with BT is elist@btopenworld.com.
When I start pine, write a letter and send it, it gets sent with email address: eric@btopenworld.com.
The email address that I want it to be is: elist@btopenworld.com
So, i am try to tell it to use "elist" rather than eric.
Get what I mean?
