pico and mcedit text editor install how to


Hi ! Linux user,
I have just installed redhat 8 in console. I forget to select the text editor (Pico and Mcedit). How can I reinstall the pico and mcedit after I have installed my redhat 8.

appreciate you help and explain the procedures.

I don't think RedHat comes with pico anymore because its been replaced by nano. mcedit is on one of those redhat cds or you can download it from here.

Pico is considered by some to be "questionably not-quite-opensource". Nano is the replacement that is VERY close to pico. However, if you'd still like pico, install pine and pico will follow.

If you can find the PINE package on the red hat 8 cd, Pico is included with that.

Pico is my fave text editor so I made sure to manually select PINE when I installed Red Hat 9.

concerning pine and pico

hi!

question: where can i download pine and pico since my redhat version 9 does not contain them. i need to download it asap because i have a project wherein i need to use pico as an editor.
