pico

Hello all,
It's really weird! I can't use end and home key in pico under KDE. However, end ahd home key is available in pico under GNOME.

I am using RH7.3

I think you need to set an /etc/INPUTRC file with the codes for Bash.

See 'man readline' and 'man bash ' for details. This happens because the terminals are different from each other. Try using bare Xterm or Rxvt and tell me what you got

HTH,

I try Xterm and run pico on it, end and home key work!
Here is the /etc/inputrc file
...
# for linux console and RH/Debian xterm
"\eOH": beginning-of-line # added by me
"\eOF": end-of-line # added by me
#"\e[1~": beginning-of-line # original
#"\e[4~": end-of-line # original
"\e[5~": beginning-of-history
"\e[6~": end-of-history
"\e[3~": delete-char
"\e[2~": quoted-insert
"\e[5C": forward-word
"\e[5D": backward-word
"\e\e[C": forward-word
"\e\e[D": backward-word

# for rxvt
"\e[8~": end-of-line

# for non RH/Debian xterm, can't hurt for RH/DEbian xterm
"\eOH": beginning-of-line
"\eOF": end-of-line
...

However, it doesn't work after changed inputrc
