PHP Editor Thoughts
After doing "battle" with my upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, I am now looking into how write PHP code for MYSQL. I was using PHPedit. I was able to get it to do a simple data dump from MSQL. But with the upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, the font size became screwed-up, as in micoro miniture. I can blow-up the font by zooming in. But I digress.

I just installed NetBeans, but have not yet expirimented with it.

Another potential program I ran accross is BlueFish. I have not downloaded this one yet.

What would be a good introductory PHP editor for learning?

Personally, I come from a school of thought that says simpler is better for learning. Anything more than syntax highlighting is likely to be a distraction when learning a language.

With that in mind, pick a good text editor (kate, gedit, geany, vim, emacs) and start there.

Bluefish is a good start, syntax highlighting and code supplementing is fairly good in both php and html.

Thanks for the replies. Have Bluefish loaded and established a project file. Now the slow process of learning.
