Permissions problem...samba...umask?

Hi

We have several WinXP boxes and a CentOS file server running samba.

user1 is in group staff and management
user2 is in group staff and management
user3 to user10 are in group staff only

When user1 upload a Word document to the server, the permissions are rwxr--r-- , which means each time user2 wants to modify a file uploaded by user1, I get a call. I'd like the permissions to be rwxrwx---.

I changed the umask in /etc/bashrc, which works great if I create a file from the CLI, but if I upload a file, permissions are still 744? Do I need to reboot the server?

Please help

Thank you

Yanik

Just add a
create mask = 0775
to that shares definition and restart samba.

Cheers,
Tink
